COLLABORATIONS

  • Trailerville - A new play by novelist John Dufresne.  Commissioned writing of the play, and facilitated development through a series of readings and workshops. Worked closely as associate producer with Artistic Director Ardelle Striker, Ph.D.  Directed World Premiere at Blue Heron Theatre in June 2004.
  • bodySONGS - Working with director Joseph Chaikin, writer John Belluso, songwriter Elizabeth Swados, and dramaturge Bill Hart, this ensemble piece was an exploration of disability in American culture.  Developed over a ten year period through improvisation with a company of physically disabled actors.  Presented at the New York Shakespeare Festival/Joseph Papp Public Theater in 1999 and again in 2002.  bodySONGS was also the subject of a documentary film by Dee Henoch.
  • The Late Henry Moss by Sam Shepard - Developed the role of Ray (later played by Sean Penn in San Francisco and Ethan Hawke in New York) in a workshop at the New York Shakespeare Festival/Joseph Papp Public Theater in which Mr. Shepard completed writing of the play.  The workshop was directed by Joseph Chaikin. 
  • Tourists and Refugees II - A two-week re-examination of the noted Winter Project production, under the direction of Joseph Chaikin, at Manhattan Theater Club.  Company members included Open Theatre members Tina Shepard, Harry Mann, and Paul Zimet.
